So here I am, still on WordPress and all set to stay awhile and participate in one of my favourite ‘challenges’ Thursday Doors! I’m back in the world of graveyards again for this week’s entry as I couldn’t resist sharing a door I found in the city of Angoulême cemetery this week. The weather was particularly threatening on Tuesday and I had the delight of wandering around this extraordinary place with the most gothic backdrop you could possibly imagine. I have a whole series of photos from here which I shall dip into over the coming weeks so for those of you who like a good tomb – stay tuned!
For more Thursday Door posts please do visit the site of our wonderful host Norm Frampton …… and if you happen to be on Instagram you can find me at @spirits_and_stones_ see you soon……….

Faulty card? Anyway, what a great excuse – just make sure you pick another dismal day!

Something odd in the downloading Sue – should have checked before wiping card but c’est la vie so I’ll have to cross fingers for rubbish weather again when I go back there! 🙂 Have a great weekend 🙂

You’re still here and with a wonderful photo per usual. But do you have a new theme? Looks like a good theme for photos. I’ve been considering switching themes, so I’m on the look out.
Booked my ticket to Basel (and after that, heading into France) for July. Excited!

Fabulously dramatic. What luck that the weather was threatening as it makes such a perfect setting for this door. Stunning, Jane. x

That sky is so perfect for the shot and that crypt looks big enough to house a village. Love the decoration on the those unusual doors, too.

Thanks Jean – I’m still amazed at the French/European approach to cemeteries – they don’t do things by halves where possible! The sky was a major bonus! 😀

Dramatic threatening skies in that environment make for spectacular shots, but you already knew that of course 🙂
Well done Jane.

Quite lovely, nice to see someone else shares in the beauty of cemeteries. My senior portfolio was a collection of headstones in B&W and always made me think of the lives of the people I was visiting. Outstanding sky! ღ
