Cheers Timothy! I had the Borgia’s in mind but I dare say there were plenty of poisonous machinations in medieval power politics too! Glad you like the pics! 🙂

I think I prefer the second one with all the objects in focus, though bother are lovely.

Amazing as ever,
It’s not only the image, it is what is behind the photo, it is Jane Morley in essence.
Great!

The Poison Ring sounds like the title of a novel set in Italy and Spain during the Renaissance period (mmm getting my thinking cap on!) Love the image 🙂

Can’t decide which I like best…perhaps the first for a sense of mystery

Hi Sue – yes I think I like the one with the overturned goblet best – gives a more murderous feel to it!! 😀 😀 😀

I hope you’re writing the story to accompany these fabulous images! Talking of the Borgias, when I was having a particularly tough time in the ’90s, a friend said he reckoned I must have been Lucrezia in a past life to have reaped so much shit. 🙂

HaHa! But you’re such a sweet person Sarah
aren’t you? 😦 !! Not sure if you’ve read it but one of my favourite books of last year was Blood and Beauty by Sarah Dunant a really brilliant novel portraying the family and early life of Lucrezia – do look for it if you don’t know it!

Ah, but I can be the bitch from hell if provoked! I haven’t read the book but the whole series sounds right up my street.

I shall remember to try never to say anything to annoy you Sarah! Enjoy the book if you do get it and have a lovely weekend – hope it’s more springlike there than it is here! 🙂

Then again, I might feel a bit disloyal to the friend of mine who’s married to her ex-husband!

Reading the comments I see that there isn’t a specific history behind the ring, just an inference and nod to the Borgias…or IS there a history behind the ring?

Hi Grace! No actually there isn’t really, it’s just an intriguing ring from my boutique actually! It just suggested a lot of potential stories! Have a great weekend! 🙂

Fabulous Jane, I love the shadows in the second photo and how atmospheric it makes the shot.
