Having spent most of my recent photographic time in one local cemetery or another, my chances for photographing a door of the normal variety has been somewhat limited. So, I figured I’d go with the flow and present for this weeks’ Thursday Doors offering another amazing door on a tomb.
The local cemeteries are full of classical pediments and columns and none more beautifully realised than this example which even has a beautiful blue door for good measure…….
Thanks as always to Norm Frampton for hosting this excellent challenge. To see more contributions please click here.

Mighty handsome door, and the blue certainly stands out against the stone. 🙂

Thank you Judy! It certainly is quite a building this one, almost like a tiny chapel and the door is very beautifully decorated!

Hi Grace! Yes it is an amazing tomb this one, probably the grandest in the whole cemetery and affords lots of lovely angles for taking pictures ! Have a lovely weekend 🙂

HaHa 😀 😀 It is rather splendid Sarah especially that front door – I almost made a joke about that in my post , the idea of there being a rear entrance having amused me somewhat, but decided I’d better not offend anyone! Certainly not a tomb for a shrinking violet 😉 🙂

Shame! How easily people are offended. If only we’d all live and let live. Hey ho.

Quite so Sarah! Personally I think political incorrectness is the only way forward ! 😀

I see you’re still hanging around graveyards, Jane 😉 No midnight shots, yet? Love that blue door, all it needs is a ‘Welcome’ mat on it’s step – or maybe not.

HaHa Jean love it ! And there was I worrying about making a joke about not finding the back door ! Yes I’m still graveyard lurking – there is a reason for my visits however and I shall tell everyone about it when it’s ready !

Those is a real beauty of a door! At first I thought it was a door to a much larger building.

I love the color and elegance of this, Jane. Lovely to peruse while I wait for the lamb to finish roasting so we can eat our Easter dinner. (My husband and s-i-l are taking pre-dinner naps.) 🙂
