Quotation #1 – Winnie the Pooh

Recently discovered and already one of my favourite bloggers, Cosme of BCLPhotography – great posts and great photography, if you don’t know his blog you really should – has invited me to join an interesting new challenge, posting a favourite quotation over 3 consecutive days and inviting 3 other bloggers each day to join in. Thanks for inviting me Cosme!

I must confess that although I have been a serious bookworm all my life I have never really memorised quotations unless required to for school literature exams.  Nowadays however it is impossible to spend any time on the internet and not come across inspirational quotations and a number of them have begun to sink into my memory bank, so I thought it would be fun to participate in the challenge and see where it leads.

My first quotation is from that eminent philosopher and original thinker Winnie the Pooh who was one of my biggest childhood heroes.  For all that he may have been a bear of very little brain, his outlook on life remains for me truly inspirational ……

“What day is it?”

“It’s today,'” squeaked Piglet

“My favourite day,” said Pooh

Enough said.

For my three nominations – there is no obligation to join in, but it’s nice to have an excuse to mention some of my favourite blogs whether they have the time to participate or not –

west517photos – whose beautiful sun-filled images conjure up a perfect picture of West Coast American life.

firstnightdesign – Sarah Vernon’s lovely eclectic blog full of fascinating snippets of theatre, history and her imaginative digital collages.

varietyoflight – One of my favourite photographers on wordpress, very classy and superb ‘cinematic’ widescreen images.

If you don’t already know these blogs, you are in for a treat! For the participants the rules are simple – just post a favourite quote over 3 days, mentioning the nominator and nominating 3 other bloggers to participate – have fun!

What a great quote. A fantastic idea. If it’s not too cheeky to reference, I like this one too https://alexraphael.wordpress.com/2014/09/22/lines-of-the-day-winniethepooh/

  7. Winnie the Pooh and the cast of characters can give me daily inspiration any time because I relate. Not sure what that says about me, but I’m comfortable with it. 🙂
