The hillside is currently in preparation for our summer theatre spectacle, to be performed by our friends ‘Le Petit Théatre de Blanzac’ during four evenings of July. This talented bunch of amateur enthusiasts with a sprinkling of professional input are always immensely ambitious in their productions and this time is no exception. A full costume performance of Balzac’s ‘Les Chouans’ with a large cast is in preparation, a full-blooded drama of revolution, army and rebel factions and inevitably, star-crossed lovers. With only a month to go, rehearsals are going on in earnest and the hillside is abuzz with activity.
The whole extravaganza is a delight for me as I have limitless opportunities for photos and candid portraits both on and behind the scenes. Last weekend was a beautiful sunny one and perfect for the odd bikers amongst the troupe to make the trip here on 2 wheels, so along with my usual photos of the actors and extras, which will be the subject of a couple of forthcoming posts, I snapped a few pictures of the bikes as well…………

What a lovely set of motorcycle photos. Are the motorcyclists odd as in odd? Or are they odd as in few amongst you? Or are the both odd and few? I rode motorcycles for years and a lot of people think I’m a bit odd! 😉

HaHa Timothy! I wondered if that bit read a little strangely but perhaps it works in both senses ! 😀 Glad you like the photos 🙂

You’ve shown the motorcycle in a different light with these shots. Great perspectives 🙂

Thanks Kaz! I confess I love motors whether 2 wheeled or 4, there’s always an interesting line or reflection to be found somewhere!

lines and reflections, yes they do add a lot of interest and the old motors sure had a lot of curves and style

Just love looking at these wonderful gleam machines, Jane. All are super shots.
My favourite is the low perspective photo of that beautiful blue motorbike. 🙂

Not to worry, there’s a note at the top of the Private page about it with an interim solution (that might or might not work according to WP Support!!) until the bug is fixed.

a piece of art or a masterpiece… 🙂 many years ago, we had a Motto Guzzi California and we would ride it singing Steppenwolf’s “born to be wild…” like in the famous movie “Easy Rider”… 😉

There is something sensuous about these shots, Jane, the curve of the chrome, the smooth lines…you make a motorcycle look very inviting! Love these shots (and I’m not even a biker girl! 😉)

Thanks very much Grace! Really pleased you like them, I have always had a bit of a thing for machines, I have some posts somewhere which explain why – eccentric mad inventor great-grandfather, there’s just something about precision engineering that I find fascinating! 🙂

What great shots! My husband is a biker and will be looking to buy a new one when we move to the Dordogne in 2 weeks! He had to sell his 2 BMWs before leaving Los Angeles.

Firstly, Jane, I can’t imagine anyone else making a motorbike look so much like a piece of elegant art. The strength of the chrome and metal and leather–all elegantly photographed.
And secondly, I can’t wait to see the next posts about the cast and crew and the phenomenal production happening upon your grand estate. What an opportunity!
This will be a pure joy to view through your eyesl
Break a lens! 😛
