Voluptuously Vivid and lots of Black

We have some beautiful geraniums in pots in our courtyard. The colour is an incredible rich and bright fuchsia which is almost impossible to capture in a photograph no matter the time of day or the light conditions.

After numerous attempts I decided to try something a little different and photographed some of the older blooms against a black background and at last something of their true colour can be seen.

They are quite voluptuously VIVID…..They also seem to me to be perfect candidates for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge prompt …….

  2. These are lovely photos. The arrangements are interesting, the lighting is dynamic and the color is great (that’s a difficult color to work with). The choice of older flowers with some texture and variation in the pedals was a good choice. The compositions work really well on black.

    1. Many thanks Timothy, I’m really pleased you like them, I’ve been experimenting a bit with darker backgrounds for these brighter colours and I think I like the effect – more to follow!
